Next up in this busy schedule we welcome Peterhead FC to New Dundas Park for the latest William Hill League 2 fixture.
This is a repeat of the opening League fixture of this season.
Peterhead have been around the top of the League for the bulk of the season and will provide a stiff test for “The Rose” as we move towards the final third of the season.
Bonnyrigg have had a tough schedule over the past month with three Tuesday night League games in a row.
On a wet Tuesday night “The Rose” travelled North to play Elgin City.
For the third match in a row Manager Calum Elliot was able to announce an unchanged starting eleven.
Bonnyrigg started the better side, but Elgin took the lead mid-way through the first half when Kane Hester broke through “The Rose “defence and was able to beat Paddy Martin with a powerful strike to put the home team into the lead.
“The Rose” were unable to create much in front of goal and the home side doubled their lead 10 minutes into the second half when Dolzanski headed in from a corner.
Hester was then able to add a third when he picked up a through ball and placed it into the corner of the net.
Manager Calum Elliot was pleased with the effort of the side in a game of few chances, but Elgin were clinical in front of goal and the team have another tough match on Saturday when second placed Peterhead come to NDP.
In their last match Peterhead were at Balmoor to play Forfar where despite having a two-goal lead at half time bottom of the table Forfar were able to come back and gain a valuable point.
The last meeting between these sides was played at the Balmoor Stadium just before Christmas where the home side ran out 2-0 winners.
The first half was competitive for both sides playing deep, with Peterhead having more of the ball.
Rose had the best chance of the half through Cammy Ross, whose solo effort led to a long-range shot that worked Blessing Oluyemi in the Peterhead goal in the 21st minute.
Angus Mailer would be shown his marching orders after he was shown red in the 26th minute.
The Blue Toon created chances through Kieran Shanks, and just before halftime, Mikey Andrews made a important save from Dylan Forrest’s shot outside the box.
Bonnyrigg Rose’s best chance of the half came through Mark Ferrie in the 55th minute, with his shot going just wide of Oluyemi’s goal
The second half saw Peterhead change the momentum of the game. Peter Pawlett gave them the lead in the 64th minute.
Peterhead extended their lead with a long-range volley that hit the bar, allowing Kieran Shanks to head in the rebound in the 71st.
