Next Match we are back at NDP for the first of three consecutive William Hill League 2 home games.
Stirling Albion are currently sitting in 4th place with The Rose in 7th after the points deduction in the League table.
Calum and the team will be looking to maintain the momentum with 10 points out of 12 gained in the previous four matches.
Manager Calum Elliot’s thoughts on the upcoming match.
Another difficult game against a side that is full of quality and Alan (Maybury) has done a brilliant job since he took over.
The last home game against Elgin City the supporters were brilliant and really got behind the players and hopefully we can put in a similar performance
Last time out in a wet and windy Stranraer The Rose grabbed all 3 points with a stoppage time winner
The Rose started strongly but the home side would have the first chance of the match, but Tom Ritchie got down sharply to stop the Guthrie shot creeping in.
Bonnyrigg took the lead in the 11th minute when a long Kerr Young ball was pounced upon by Cammy Ross who pocked it into the corner of the net.
That would be Captain Kerr Young’s last action of the match as came off injured to be replaced by Aaron Arnott.
The game was being played in difficult conditions with driving rain and strong winds making it difficult for the players and Lang brought out another good save from Tom Ritchie before Mark Ferrie had a golden chance to double the lead in the 37th minute when he headed over from close range.
Stranraer got back into the game just before half time when they were awarded a penalty after a foul by Sean Murphy on Ecrepont.
Russell took the penalty for the home side and thew ball came of the post and Robertson converted the rebound as the sides went in level at the break.
At the start of the second half with the game being very even The Rose made a double change bringing on Lee Currie and Ben Scarborough for Callum Connolly and the injured Bradley Barrett.
The home side then saw a Russell free kick that got caught in the wind come off the cross bar.
Midway through the half The Rose made a further two substitutions with Keiran McGachie and Lewis Lorimer replacing Kalum Higginbotham and Mark Ferrie.
On 70minutes Angus Mailer had a good opportunity in the box but was unable to get any power behind the shot and the home goalkeeper was able to get down and smother the shot.
Bonnyrigg were dominating the play at this stage and the home side went down to 10 men when Edgar was dismissed for an over the ball tackle on Lee Currie.
Just when it looked like both sides would need to settle for a point The Rose won a corner in injury time which Aaron Arnott crossed in and was met by the head of Keiran McGachie to grab all 3 points for The Rose and spark scenes of jubilation after a very tough two weeks for the club.
Last Saturday Stirling Albion now under Manager Alan Maybury went down 3-0 at Ainslie Park when they faced The Spartans.
After a tight affair in the first half the home side scored three goals without reply in the second.
In the first meeting between the sides in September The Rose came away from The Forthtbank Performance Centre Stadium with all 3 points with a 2-0 victory after an excellent performance with an own goal in the first half and a late Bradley Barrett strike.
