Message from Calum

League 2 is an unforgiving League.
Every game pose different challenges, Saturday will be no different.
We prepared for the Dunbar game with this week in mind so it will be a case of cleaning up certain aspects of the game in training and putting in a performance which gets us the points we are after.

Next up we entertain Edinburgh City FC at New Dundas Park for another vital William Hill League 2 clash.

This is the start of the second quarter of matches in the league for this season.

The Rose are currently 6th in the division with Edinburgh City one place behind.

In the last meeting between the sides in August at Meadowbank Stadium

Bonnyrigg took the lead through Kerr Young in the 18th minute when he headed in from a Lee Currie in-swinging corner. Currie curled home a shot from a distance in the 29th minute, drawing an excellent save from Weir.

Rose controlled the first 30 minutes of the game, holding great spells of possession. Edinburgh City created chances late in the first half, with Innis Lawson hitting Ritchie’s crossbar after firing a shot from outside the box. Edinburgh City was given a lifeline just before the half-time whistle through James Stoke, after a dragged-back cross from Jon Robertson.

The second half had a completely different tempo, with Edinburgh City building momentum early on. Sean Murphy was given his marching orders in the 49th minute after receiving a second yellow card, leaving Rose with 10 men for the majority of the second half.

Connor Young gave Edinburgh City the lead in the 65th minute after receiving a pass from Innes Lawson and firing past Ritchie.

Bonnyrigg Rose responded with a Neil Martyniuk volley to level the game in the 78th minute. Rose had chances to win the game through Cameron Ross and Dean Watson—Watson's shot was saved by Weir, and Ross missed the target.
In the closing minutes, both goalkeepers made crucial saves—Tom Ritchie denied a Kieran Somerville deflection, while Mark Weir, formerly of Bonnyrigg Rose, saved a header from Martyniuk—resulting in a draw and both sides earning a point.

In their last League outing The Rose went down to a tough defeat at Methil against the League leaders East Fife .

The Rose had two massive chances to take the lead in the first ten minutes, Connolly and Cammy Ross failing to put the Rose ahead.

A big decision would change the game on 14 minutes as Allen was shown a straight red card for a foul on Andrew Tod in the box, a decision that wasn't well received by the travelling support.

Alan Trouten converted from the spot, and he would add his second before the break after making a smart run beyond the defence and looping his header over Ritchie.

Ritchie made a big save to close out the half to deny Nathan Austin, and Rose went into the break 2 goals behind.

Ritchie would have much more to do in the second half, pulling off some big saves to deny Pat Slattery and Austin at his left post.

East Fife would make the advantage count late in the second half, as Trouten would complete his hat-trick with a header at the back-post.

Edinburgh City came out on top in the League 2 Edinburgh derby against The Spartans at Meadowbank Stadium in a match that had been postponed due to The Spartans run in the League Cup.

After an uneventful first half the home side were awarded a penalty 10 minutes into the second half after a foul in the penalty area which also resulted in The Spartans going down to 10 men.

Connor Young converted the penalty and despite Spartans pressure Edinburgh City scored a second when Connor Young converted a second with a shot from outside of the box to secure the points for the home side.
