Next up we welcome Clyde FC to NDP for the next set of William Hill League 2 fixtures.
The Rose will be looking to catch a break in our second home game of this League season.
Matches between these sides were very close last season with both sides each winning two games, and this match should be no different.
Last time at NDP (16/03/24) the away side ran out 2-1 winners despite The Rose taking a first minute lead and dominating most of the first half two Clyde goals in a 15-minute spell in the second half resulted in them taking all 3 points back through West.
Clyde under Manager Ian McCall made a fantastic recovery in the League last season to retain their place in the division after coming back from a 13-point deficit at the start of the year and have made a number of additions to their squad throughout the Summer.
The Rose got a 2-2 draw at Edinburgh City last time out despite dominating the first 30 minutes of the game and going ahead with a 16th minute Kerr Young header from a corner we found ourselves level at half time when the home side drew level just before the break.
The Rose then had Sean Murphy sent off for a second yellow card and Edinburgh City took the lead in the 65th minute but 10 men Rose showed great character and determination and deservedly got the equaliser on 78 minutes when Neil Martyniuk found the net from the edge of the box.
The 10 men continued to dominate and had chances to bring the 3 points back to NDP but were unable to find the winner which the team deserved.
Clyde went down 0-2 in Hamilton to Stirling Albion despite dominating the game for large spells and have the bulk of possession and chances lost to an early own goal and a late Stirling Albion breakaway goal.
Manager Calum Elliot thoughts on this upcoming match.
Clyde in many people’s eyes are League favourites.
Their squad is stacked with experienced and talented players managed by Ian who has done a fantastic job with them.
It’s as big a test as they come, one which the players and the coaching team are really looking forward to.
Our supporters really getting behind the team could make all the difference in a game which no doubt will be defined by small margins.
