Rose dominant in final game of the season.

Written by Harry Robertson

The final game of the 23/24 season for the Rose was played at New Dundas Park with a great crowd in attendance to watch their team stay in the league.

Calum Elliot makes just two changes to his side that snatched a draw against the champions Stenhousemuir last week. Keiran McGachie came into the line up and a change in goalkeeper with Michael Andrews starting the final game.

The first real chance of the game went to Bradley Barrett as Bonnyrigg attack he takes a shot at goal but fails to hit the target at it goes wide.
Smart Osadolor gets his first chance of the game in the 37th minute as he tried his luck inside the box but it falls straight into the hands of Marc McCallum in goals for Forfar.

The home side playing very well as they manage to stop the visitors Forfar having a chance on goal until the 44th minute where they manage to scare Andrews in goal as the ball hits the outside of the net, but no damage done.

Half Time 0-0.

Bonnyrigg Rose made a change at the break as McGachie makes way for Angus Mailer.

In form Dean Watson opened the scoring with a lovely bit of skill taking the ball round the keeper and passing it into the net to go in front after 49 minutes of play.

The first goal inspired the whole team as 5 minutes later they make it two with Callum Connolly placing the ball into the top corner after a Rose corner.

Bonnyrigg continued to attack creating chances and playing some great football for their fans.

The manager decided to switch it up by making 4 changes at once with Jonny Stewart, Ross Gray, Conor Doan and recent signing Owen Wardell coming on after the 70th minute.

Youngster Wardell makes an instant impact showing lots of speed and determination, in the 75th minute he scored his first goal for the club making it three for the Rose and giving the supporters lots to look forward to with this signing.

Moments after a penalty is given to the home side which Neil Martyniuk puts away as he has done all season and Bonnyrigg win 4-0.

A brilliant performance from the Rose at home on the final day of the season securing their spot in the league for the 24/25 season. The supports shown very encouraging signs by their teams football in this game and look forward to the seasons to come.

Massive thank you to all the fans and sponsors for the continued support, C'mon the Rose.
