Following the postponement of the home fixture against Stirling Albion last week, Bonnyrigg Rose are back on the road as they face Annan Athletic at Galabank in another rearranged fixture after the fixture was called off back in December. Rose have had an extra week to mull over how to bounce back from a humbling defeat to Albion Rovers in the fixture that kicked off 2023, and will look to do just that on Saturday.
Rose will be without title winners George Hunter and Bob Wilson following their departures, but there will be a chance to see some new faces as reinforcements have been brought in. Forward Zander Murray could be set to make his first appearance for the Rose after signing from Gala Fairydean Rovers last week. Scoring over a century of goals at his former club, he will be looking to make an instant impact in Rose colours.
That wasn't to be the last of the incomings, as Aaron Arnott also signed on loan from Raith Rovers until the end of the season and will be hoping to have his say on the proceedings at Galabank.
The last time these two sides faced was one to remember as Bonnyrigg Rose defeated Annan 2-0 in what was a game to remember on a cold October evening. It was departed faces George Hunter and Kieran Mitchell who got the goals that day, and a performance and result of a similar ilk will be needed to get the win tomorrow.
The Host's form going into Saturday has been a mixed bag. Resounding victories away to East Fife and at home to Albion Rovers stand out amongst a draw away at Elgin and a home loss to Forfar.
Tommy Goss will be the man to watch for the hosts as he is up there with the League's top scorers, tied for second place on 13 goals with Albion Rovers' Charlie Reilly. However, Chris Johnston is another to keep an eye on as he has been the creative focal points for Annan this season with 9 assists in cinch League Two.
The pitch inspection will be held at 10:30 am tomorrow morning at Galabank.
