Bonnyrigg Rose made two changes from the side that drew at home to Dumbarton last week as Dean Brett and Callum Connolly dropped out and Scott Gray and Jonny Stewart came into the team. Rose came close to getting all 3 points at NDP against the Sons, and after 3 draws in a row they would hope this could be the game where they turn draws into victories.
The first half was extremely quiet, where the most noise in the ground was the away end's jeers for the refereeing team. Rose had a bit more of the ball than the Fifers, but nothing to show for it as far as goals or chances were concerned. The first real chance of the game came just after the 25 minute mark and it fell the way of the hosts as following a nice move from a corner, a driven effort from Scott mercer well saved by Mikey Andrews in the Rose net. The Rosey Posey's closest effort of the first half came from a speculative effort from range from Kieran Mitchell which went over.
The second half was more of the same but with a bit more intensity from both sides as they pushed for the 3 points. Bradley Barrett saw his headed effort sail over whilst a golden one-on-one chance for Mitchell was brilliantly kept out by Allan Fleming. The Fife's closest chance of the game was spurned by Scott Shephard as his effort was easily parried by Mikey Andrews. Conor Doan was next to test Allan Fleming as his effort from range went close, but it was a second yellow card for captain Jonny Stewart with less than twenty minutes to play that killed Rose's momentum. The away fans' were sure to let the referee know what they thought of the decision, and the extra man advantage inspired East Fife as they went in search of a winner.
That winning goal would not come though as a professional and composed defensive display from Bonnyrigg Rose helped the game out a take a draw back to New Dundas Park. That's now four draws in a row for Bonnyrigg Rose and they will look to change their fortunes and turn one point into three when the visit Annan Athletic at Galabank next Saturday.
