Bonnyrigg Rose is pleased to announce the signing of experienced defender Chris Kane.
The versatile 29-year-old can play at full-back and in midfield, but has been deployed primarily as a central defender throughout his lengthy career in the SPFL.
As a youth, Kane captained his Heart of Midlothian under-19 side before breaking into the first team squad in late 2011. A senior debut came after his exit from the Jambos at Dunfermline Athletic, where he spent 18 months prior to moving to fellow Fife clubs Cowdenbeath and East Fife.
The Edinburgh-born defender had a short stay at Stenhousemuir in between two stints at hometown club Edinburgh City. Kane left City in January of this year and has now been snapped up by Rose manager Robbie Horn on a deal until the end of the 2022/23 season.
Horn said of his new signing: “Chris can cover in defence and midfield, is very vocal and an organiser. He's a good footballer with a great attitude and, although a free agent and not played much recently, he is very experienced at this level.”
Welcome to the Rose, Chris!
