He’s Coming Home!
Today the Club are delighted to welcome back Club Legend, Jonny Stewart as our new manager. Jonny brings with him another Club favourite Ross Gray as his Asst Manager. Jonny and Ross take the reins on Saturday at our fixture v Stirling Albion.
Jonny originally signed for us back in 2014 and went on to become our most successful captain with over 300 appearances and was awarded a testimonial in 2024. When Jonny joined us we played in the East Region Super League and he was instrumental in the success we went on to have. After lifting not 1 but 2 Super League titles, Jonny also won the East of Scotland League Title and of course the Lowland League Title helping us secure our place in SPFL Scottish League 2. Over his 10 years with the club Jonny has stepped into many roles. Coach, asst manager, interim manager and put his heart and soul into each and every single minute he spent with us. At the end of last season he moved to SLFL side Tranent as player /coach before being appointed manager.
Here’s what Jonny has to say about his return home:
"I am absolutely delighted to be back at the club, it is a real honour to be appointed Bonnyrigg Rose manager. It’s no secret my love for the club and I hope to install that passion into the squad. We are in a difficult position but I believe we have more than enough to get ourselves safe. We’ve been in this position before and will need to rely on our previous experience with everyone pulling in the same direction. As a player the last 2 seasons, the fans played a huge part in our survival and we will need them again starting Saturday at home."
Mon the Rose
Thanks very much goes to Tranent for their understanding and we appreciate their help. We would like to wish them well for the remainder of the season.
