CFC open foodbank as part of BERT initiative

Following Midlothian Council’s announcement in respect of additional funding for foodbanks, Bonnyrigg Rose Community Football Club have opened an additional foodbank based at Poltonhall to supplement the foodbank opened by Bonnyrigg & Sherwood Community Development Trust at the community shop on the High St last week. We have given our refridgeration and freezer equipment to the CFC as we don’t need it at the moment & have provided storage space to the BSCDT to house their charity shop items as our small way of getting both entities up and running.
BRCFC will cover the Poltonhall & Hopefield Community Council catchment areas while BSCDT will cover Bonnyrigg & Lasswade CC areas.
If you are in need of urgent food supplies or essential items and live in the above catchment areas please contact:
BRCFC - Trish Sime at trish@bonnyriggrose.org.uk or 07786 667399
BSCDT - Anne Eillot at anneelliotbasc@gmail.com or 0131 663 2555
These foodbanks have been set up as part of the Bonnyrigg Emergency Response Team (BERT), which is an initiative of local community groups set up to support and help the communities of Bonnyrigg, Lasswade, Poltonhall and Hopefield in response to the Covid-19 pandemic. For more information on BERT please visit their Facebook page.
