The board would like to thank the whole of the Bonnyrigg Rose family for their kindness throughout a very difficult time, with the passing of our Chairman Charlie Kirkwood.
Charlie put all his energy and commitment into making the Rose the club we are today. As a board we are committed to remembering and honouring the work Charlie achieved, whilst continually seeking to improve and develop.
We are pleased to confirm that Marie Arthur who has been a board member for 14 years and our current Club Secretary, will hold the position of Interim Chairperson. Marie worked along side Charlie and has a deep understanding of the running of the club.
Over the last few weeks the extent of Charlie’s hours of dedication to the club has become even more apparent. As well as engaging and communicating with sponsors, supporters and the local community there was much unseen work, making sure that the ground and stadium were ready for Match days.
As a club we face an enormous challenge to meet the bronze licensing requirements as well as support Calum to deliver results on the park. With this in mind, we have moved to strengthen our capacity and capability on the board. To help the board deliver these important roles we have asked and are happy to announce that Grant and Stuart Fitzsimmons have accepted positions on the board.
Grant and Stuart have been supporters and sponsors for many years. Their family-owned business G Fitzsimmons and son Ltd being our main sponsor for the last 8 years. Grant and Stuart were instrumental in helping the club install the floodlights and provide seated stands to meet the bronze license status. We are delighted to welcome them to the board where their skills passion for the club can be fully utilised.

Grant is well known in the community and knows many of our sponsors and supporters. His role will keep sponsors, supporters and the local community informed of what the club are doing. This will help continue the work Charlie had done in maintaining a true community club with transparency at its heart.

Utilising Stuart’s expertise and connections in construction and engineering. Stuart will ensure our ground and facilities are maintained and improved to meet the ever-demanding requirements of the SPFL.

We have a number of challenges ahead which, with the help of our supporters, sponsors and the local community, I'm sure we can successfully get through these. Having been involved with the club over the past 14 years, I've seen at first hand the enormous amount of work carried out by Charlie and the results of this both on and off the pitch.
